Scripture Reading: Genesis 22:1-19.

Memory verse for the week:   Prov. 6:6

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.”

To sacrifice means to give up something precious or costly to another person. Please note that if what you are giving up isn’t precious or costly, then it is not a sacrifice! David in            2 Sam. 24 :24b says: “…No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing…”

The liberty we enjoy to be called sons of the Most High did not come until God the Father sacrificed the blood of His only begotten Son for the redemption of the whole world. John 3:16. You see, nothing good comes cheap. Great things have a price tag attached to them!

The children of this world perhaps have a better understanding of this subject. Occult men sleep in the cemetery at midnight for as long as 21 days because they want to be empowered by the devil. I wonder how many teenagers fast at least twice every week to go higher in spiritual power? Mat 17:21.

Have you offered sacrifice of praise personally to God, today? Heb.13:15. What about sacrifice in your tithe and offering? Mal 3:8-12.  All the 12 standing Disciples of Christ except John the beloved sacrificed their blood for the spread of the Gospel in great pain; dying miserably.

It is very important to know that the highest sacrifice anyone can offer unto God is his life. Rom 12:1-2. A life of kingdom service! Heb 12:28. What are you doing for God in your local assembly? May you pay the sacrifice that will advance your destiny, now that you’re young. Amen.

ACTION WORD:            GIVING SACRIFICIALLY CAN BE VERY PAINFUL.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I receive grace to give all that God has given me back to him, in Jesus name.

I break the backbone of stinginess in the name of Jesus
