Bible Reading: Genesis 12: 1-3
Memory Verse: Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations…Romans 4:18a (NLT)
God’s Servant, Apostle Arome Osayi said: The best that God has to offer you is not on the surface. You will need to press deep into Him in order to possess it. And the conditions under which you will press, Satan himself will be allowed, given liberty, to come try your faith during the time of this pressing. Satan will be given the liberty to come play his mind-bending tricks on your life during the course of this pressing. The way you react and the way you respond is going to determine how far God is going to work with you in your lifetime.
Examples of men God promised greatness, how they pressed into it under pressure with clear scriptural anchors and relatable real-life parallels include:
1. Abraham – Promise Delayed, Faith Pressed
Promise: “I will make you a great nation” (Genesis 12:2)
The Pressure: Years of barrenness, famine, and uncertainty. Satan’s strategy was delay and doubt: “Has God really said?”
Response: Abraham kept moving forward in obedience. He was also building altars even when nothing had manifested (Genesis 13:18).
Result: The promise surfaced only after endurance. God did not remove pressure; He used it to mature his faith.
Real-life example: A man called into ministry must serve quietly for years, unseen, unpaid, yet faithful. Many quit in the hidden season; those who endure become pillars.
2. Joseph – Dream Given, Prison Allowed
Promise: God-given dreams of leadership (Genesis 37:5–7)
The Pressure: Betrayal, false accusation, imprisonment. Satan attacked his identity and integrity.
Response: Joseph mastered each season rather than escaping it. He was faithful in Potiphar’s house, and was diligent in the prison (Genesis 39:22–23).
Result: The throne was not on the surface; it was buried under suffering.
Real-life example: A gifted professional overlooked and sabotaged at work. Instead of bitterness, they grow in competence and character, eventually rising beyond their oppressors.
Quote: Your response under pressure determines your capacity for the promise.
Prophetic Decree: You will not fail the tests of destiny, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. On my journey to my Canaan land, I will not fail the test of destiny, in Jesus name.
2. I receive divine strength to surmount all the wiles of the devil, in Jesus name.
3. Like Abraham, I will keep moving forward in obedience, building altars even when nothing has manifested, in Jesus name.
4. Unlike Abraham, impatience, weariness of faith, pressure, and ungodly counsel will not make me produce Ishmael while waiting for my promised Isaac, in Jesus name.
5. Through betrayal, false accusation, and imprisonment, I shall master each season of my life rather than avoid it until I am enthroned, in Jesus name.
