Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 12-14

Memory VerseI press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 (KJV)

You remember the film titled, “The Matrix” (1999)? The main character Neo was offered the choice between a red pill and a blue pill by rebel leader Morpheus. The red pill represents an uncertain future while the blue pill represents a beautiful prison. Similarly in life, we are presented with choices which generally represents either a “red pill” or a “blue pill”. Let’s talk Mathematics. The red pill could be described as living a life as illustrated by an inverted ogive curve starting from origin while the blue pill refers to living a life as illustrated by a straight line graph. Many people want life to be too easy on them, but many atimes, that is the path for the chicken hearted, low glory and meagre rewards. Do you know the young man who makes the educative and informative video called Nas Daily? He is named Nuseir Yassin, a Palestinian-Israeli and a Harvard graduate.

This incredible young multitalented guy, now just 29 years old, left a very high paying job to follow his dreams – explore the world, with the intention of video-documenting his travels. He once travelled to over 60 countries in 3 years. Today, he is worth millions in dollars. He took the red pill. He followed his dreams. Mummy Folu Adeboye had the choice of marrying well-to-do suitors who asked her hand in marriage as a young lady. She took the red pill. She followed a young man who had nothing really to be proud off, other than being a  “incurable optimist”. Today, her name rings a bell in most Christian homes worldwide. Again, Etim Esin was barnished from home and tagged the black sheep of his family until he became a soccer star. Parents should please carefully guide the choices of their children especially in career and marriage (intra & inter tribal marriage inclusive). Guide them, but please leave the final choice to them. Stop trying to play it safe. Follow God’s perfect plan for your life, career, marriage, ministry, and home. It may be hard on your flesh, you may suffer rejection for a while, it may cost you to go hungry, etc, but provided it is God who has commissioned it and you walk in His wisdom, it will surely end in praise. No cross, no crown.

Assignment: Watch the film “High Calling’ by Mount Zion Faith Ministries Int’l.

QuoteIf you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise – Rober Fritz

POWER FOR HONOURABLE CONNECTION (2)

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
