Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 9: 25-27 KJV/NLT

Memory Verse:  Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the Law. Proverbs 29:18 (BSB)

To restrain is to prevent (someone or something) from doing something. It means to keep under control or within limits. To restrain means to hold back, to constrain, to restrict, to regulate, to moderate, to subdue, to discipline.

15 FACTS ABOUT THE RESTRAINING POWER OF VISION

1. Your vision requires you to stay focused on your assignment.

2. The purpose of life is not freedom but vision.

3. You cannot train a man further than his vision.

4. A divine vision will surely put some constraints on you. Vision is a source of discipline. When a man lacks discipline, he lacks vision. Vision without discipline is simply a mere wish.

5. Many times, goal setting is overrated while commitment to a vision is underrated.

6. To come out successful, you must deny yourself of certain liberties. There are places you must not be found and things you cannot do because of your vision.

7. You should get to a junction where your vision makes it impossible to sit for several hours with the television or chat without any time frame on the social media.

8. Your vision should make it impossible for you to marry just anybody.

9. A God-given vision will put restraint into your life. If your vision doesn’t put a restraint on you, you do not have a vision yet. Vision will make you live a narrow path.

10. Not all good opportunities are good for you. Some good opportunities are good distractions. Jesus refused to be crowned the people’s king because it is not in alignment with His vision (John 6:15). Some opportunities are not consistent with your vision.
