Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:24, Revelation 5:10
Memory Verse: But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24 (NLT)
There’s a subtle dichotomy in the Christian faith. While some Christians tilt towards the wisdom of God, others tilt towards the power of God. Well, such things are not new even in the Bible. It happened in the Church of old. Some said they were for Paul, and others said they were for Apollos. Shall we address this unnecessary division borne out incomplete knowledge or sheer pride.
Our Bible reading says Jesus has been made both the wisdom and power of God. Let’s look at it from a practical perspective. You are designed to walk on two legs. Should you decide to walk only on one foot, the best you can do is to hop. Indeed, many are hopping through life because they have failed to embrace the whole counsel of God.
Many who embrace the wisdom of God and neglect the power of God have knowledge but no grace component to defend it. On the other hand, Christians who embrace the power of God neglecting the wisdom of God have a lot of supernatural experiences but are not equipped to build anything lasting, not to talk of anything transgenerational. Anywhere power is manifested and there’s no wisdom, whatever is done will be temporal. It is the wisdom of God that establishes the demonstrations of power in any field of life.
Friends, the principles of God add up to itself. You don’t pick one and leave the other. You must embrace the whole counsel of God.
Soak yourself in deep worship. Keep pressing into God in prayers, fasting and deep meditation. Now, even as you engage in all these useful spiritual exercises, you must trust God to give you the wisdom to implement all you have received in the Spirit realm in your family, workplace, neighbourhood, and your various spheres of influence. We are salt to the earth and light to the world. Go make a positive influence. Exercise your priesthood but don’t forget to reign as a king. Be a balanced Christian standing on two legs – Power and Wisdom.
Quote: Your life is a reflection of any of the mysteries of the kingdom you have either embraced and/or ignored.
Prophetic Decree: Receive a large heart to embrace the full counsel of God for your life, in Jesus name.
