Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2: 9-10

Memory VerseBut God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)

This year has been tagged, “From Glory To Glory”. Can we be very sincere to ourselves? Most times, things that will make your glory shine does not come easy.  Most times, it comes with many contentions. A research says that the human brain is designed for survival, for ease. If you then want to be successful, you will need to construct another neurological pathway in your brain. Similarly, there is a contention that comes with glory. Hardly is there any glorious thing that comes without a fight or turbulence.

The birth of the glorious child called Jesus who has been heralded by the Messianic Prophet, Isaiah, 600 years before He was born came with the killing of all children who were two years old and below. Such doesn’t look like the birth of a saviour. Does it? Worst still, he was birthed in a manger, the home of sheep. What an irony! But, that is the methodology of the glory of God. It is always hidden in mystery, ‘confusion’, suspense and ‘foolishness’.

The glory of God was about to be revealed in Israel after a period of 3 years of drought. Guess what? As at the time the prophet Elijah was contending on the altar of prayer, the only available sign in the firmament was like the hand of a man. How can abundance of rain be likened to a man’s hand in the sky. That glory doesn’t look like it. Such is the way of God.

Ask students who came out with a First Class or Second Class Upper genuinely, they will tell you the glory came with some deep sacrifices. Most First Class students are not social media frenzy. They are usually ‘buried’ in their books paying the price for the glory that comes with that level of success.

I encourage you to be sensitive,  industrious, and ready to pay the much needed legitimate price needed to make this year a glorious year indeed. See you at the top.

Quote:  It is the ordinary things that are the true genesis of extraordinary things.
