Bible Reading: Psalm 105:16–19; Genesis 45:5–8
Memory Verse: Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. Genesis 45:5
Take a moment and look at your life. What you are going through right now may not just be about you. Sometimes, the reason the battle feels so intense is because you are not just a person, you are a solution.
The story of Joseph makes this very clear. In Genesis 37, he received a dream from God. But instead of stepping into greatness immediately, his life went in the opposite direction of betrayal, slavery, false accusations, prison, and delay. It didn’t look like purpose. It looked like pain.
But Psalm 105:16–19 reveals something powerful: Before the famine came, God had already sent Joseph ahead. That means before the problem showed up, the solution was already in motion. And surprisingly, the solution didn’t look like one.
Joseph was sent as an answer, but he looked like a victim. He was chosen, but he looked forgotten. He was positioned, but it felt like punishment.
Have you ever prayed, “Lord, deliver me from this situation?” Meanwhile, heaven is saying, “I sent you into it to bring deliverance.” That’s a hard truth, but a powerful one.
When Joseph finally stood before his brothers in Genesis 45, they were afraid. They thought he would take revenge. But Joseph had understanding. He saw beyond the pain. He said, “God sent me before you to preserve life.” What a perspective! It means the betrayal was part of the journey, the delay was part of the preparation, the pain was part of the purpose.
You may feel like everything around you is working against you, but God is working through you. Human reasoning may not understand it. It may not add up logically. But God’s ways are higher. He can take what looks like a setback and turn it into a setup for many lives to be saved.
So don’t be too quick to escape your process. There is something God is building in you and something He wants to do through you. You are not just going through it. You are being sent through it.
Quote: Don’t be too quick to escape your process. You are not just going through it. You are being sent to it.
Prophetic Decree: Receive a heart that sees purpose in pain, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus:
Lord, give me understanding in the midst of my pain. Help me to see beyond what I feel. Help me to recognise Your purpose in my journey. Use my life as a solution to others, and let my story bring preservation and hope, in Jesus name. Amen.
