DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post September

3rd September, 2016.

Scripture Reading: Eccl 3:1-8.

Memory verse for the week:   Eph 5:16

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. “(KJV)

What is time management? Time management is the act or process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency and productivity. Time is a universal asset. Both the rich and the poor, the old and young, the schooled and unschooled etc have got the same amount of time available to them every day. The difference lies in the way it is been spent.

“Making the best use of your time, because the days are evil” Eph 5:16 (ESV)

How can a teen effectively manage time?

  1. Be a friend of God, the author of time: Wisdom is given unto such a teen that put God first in his/her life. Mat 6:33.
  • Set goals:  Before you go to bed, plan for the next day.  With a pen and paper, write down what time you need to wake up, and plan the rest of the day in 30-60 minutes schedule or as required. Never go into a new day thinking of what to do; have ready-made set out goals burning in your heart to be accomplished. Luke 14:28
  • Prioritize your goals i.e. “Draw a Scale of preference”. Re-write your list of goals in decreasing order of importance. Write the most important things first, and then the second most important thing should follow, then the third …..just like that…  You grab?
  • Learn to delegate: Know what you must do personally and what you must delegate (To delegate is to tell someone else to do something on your behalf) e.g. Jethro told Moses in Exodus 18:13-22 to delegate some of his assignment to 70 elders in Israel. You mustn’t always do all!
  • Be disciplined: A lot will be competing for your attention especially the internet and your friends .They aren’t bad provided you ONLY attend to them as planned. You must learn to say “No” to distractions.

ACTION WORD: JOY TO THE WISE.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Wisdom for effective time management, fall upon my heart, in the name of Jesus.

Time robbers in the school of life, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
