Bible Reading:  Acts 13:36

Memory Verse:  For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity]. Philippians 1:21 (AMP)

Tommy Hicks Jr. was born on October 15, 1926, in the United States. Let’s peruse into his life.

A. His Background: He was an ordinary man with an uncommon hunger. Tommy Hicks was not born into fame, wealth, or ecclesiastical privilege. He was a simple American Pentecostal preacher, raised in a modest environment, with no global platform to his name. What set him apart early was not education, eloquence, or strategy. It was an unusual hunger for God.

He was deeply shaped by the revival fires of his time, especially the legacy of Smith Wigglesworth, who prophetically declared over him that God would use him mightily across nations. Tommy Hicks carried this word quietly, without rushing to fulfil it by human effort.

Before the crowds ever came, he learned to walk with God in obscurity.

B. The Secrets Behind His Exploits for Christ: Tommy Hicks’ public power was rooted in private surrender. Several hidden pillars defined his life:

1. Radical Obedience: He obeyed God even when it made no natural sense. His most famous instruction, “Go to Argentina” came without invitations, finances, or contacts. Yet he went. Revival often flows where obedience leads, not where logic agrees.

2. Dependence on the Holy Spirit: Hicks did not rely on preaching techniques or charisma. He leaned heavily on the Holy Spirit, allowing meetings to be led by divine prompting rather than schedules. He believed God could do more in five minutes of obedience than in five hours of human planning.

3. Faith in God’s Word Over Circumstances: When finances were low, doors were closed, or opposition was fierce, Hicks trusted God’s promises. He acted as though God had already spoken and that was enough.

4. Humility Before God: Despite massive miracles, Hicks constantly deflected glory to Jesus. He saw himself as a vessel, not the source. This posture kept the anointing fresh and the channel unclogged.

QuoteIf you would do what the Saints of Old did, you will experience the same result.

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace for complete yieldedness to the will of God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive grace to recklessly abandon myself at your throne, in Jesus name.

2. I receive grace for radical obedience, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace for prompt and complete obedience, in Jesus name.
