DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post December

Sunday, 25th December, 2016.

Bible reading: Luke 1:26-38.

Memory Verse:

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV).

The birth of Jesus has been said not to be exactly on the 25th of December in many quarters. Nevertheless, all Christians believe that a saviour was born and His Blood was used as a remission of the sins of mankind. The fulfilment of the purpose of a Man is more important than questions surrounding his date of birth. Be that as it may, the 25th of every December such as this, has been dedicated to celebrate the greatest celebrant of mankind, Christ the King.

Let’s sing this song:

I need no other argument

I need no other plea

It is enough that Jesus died

And that He died for me.

Lift up your voice and say: Thank you Lord for sending Jesus for the salvation of my soul.

However, there is a need to share the joy of knowing Christ to someone. Some individuals dedicate every Christmas celebration to reach out in evangelism and to share food, money and clothing materials etc, especially for the less privileged. This is a habit I’ll implore you to cultivate from now on.

Do you really want to live for Christ in true honour of his birthday, then, you must learn to stop living for yourself and start living for others. The life of a man does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.  Merry Christmas.

Key point: Reflect the true essence of the birth of Jesus.

Prayer points

1. Thank you Lord for sending your Only begotten Son, Jesus to die for my sins.

2. I receive the grace to reflect the love Christ has given me to my world in Jesus name.
