Bible Reading: Daniel 3:16-18, Proverbs 3:5-10

Memory Verse:Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5

There are three words upon which we must anchor. They are Faith, Hope and Trust. But, the greatest is Trust. Hebrews 11:1 says Faith is the substance (assurance) of things hoped for and the evidence (conviction) of things not seen. Your miracle may not have materialized physically but you can see it, feel it, touch it and smell it in your spirit. That’s faith! Hope on the other hand talks about your expected end. Proverbs 23:18 says, “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off”. When you can see the final destination, God has promised you in your spirit despite numerous troubles, satanic attacks or turbulence on your way, then, you still have hope.

Trust is that great height of spiritual maturity God is willing to get each and every one of His children. Few people ever climb to this height of trust in their walk with God. When faced with the burning fire, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego confessed their trust in God when they boldly told the king they won’t bow down for his golden image even if God decides not to deliver them (Daniel 3:16-18). Job also got to the level of trust. He went through some of the greatest trials and calamity that any man has ever faced in history within a short time. He lost thousands of livestock, lost all his children, his business collapsed, boil was all over his body, his wife despised God, natural disaster wiped off his investments, etc.

But, he was still able to say, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.” Job 13:15 (NKJV). No matter how hopeless, helpless, difficult, uncomfortable, or bizarre your situation could be, don’t stop trusting God. He remains the omnipotent (all-powerful) God. HIV positive can still change to HIV negative. The testimony of the woman who gave birth to a baby boy after her womb had been removed converted the doctor who performed the operation. The doctor kept saying, “I was the one who removed her womb”. Trust in God always, and you shall praise Him at the end.

Anxiety, worry, guilt, condemnation, grieve, sorrow, fear, unbelief and doubt are all signs that you are not trusting the Lord.

Be warned: Never trust in money, connections, power, skill or talent. Proverbs 3:6 says, “Do not lean on your own understanding”. Giving is not all about money. It is a sign of trust that God is your source. The word ‘love’ is relational. To love money is to trust in money. By giving God your money, you are telling the spirit of mammon that you divorce it for God whom you trust.

Quote: Trust God even when it is hard to trust
