Bible reading: 1 Sam. 15:1-35.
Memory Verse:“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth” Deuteronomy 28:1(NKJV).
- Selective/ Partial obedience:Example of this is the case of king Saul in the battle against the Amalekites. King Saul was told to kill all the Amalekites, sparing no man or animal but he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good. King Saul paid dearly for it. He lost his throne as king of Israel (1 Sam. 15: 1-35).
- Delayed Obedience: God told Jonah to go to Nineveh but he went to Tarshish. He repented in the belly of the fish, which God caused to swallow him for 3 days. He later went to Nineveh but not without the loss of some goods and properties of other cabin crew (Jonah 1-3).
- Complete obedience: Moses was completely faithful in the work of the Lord. Enoch walked with God in total obedience until he was no more (Gen. 5:24)!
Quote: Incomplete obedience is synonymous to disobedience.
Prophetic Word: May the Holy Ghost evacuate every spirit of disobedience in your heart.
Prayer point
- I reject the spirit of Jonah in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, help me to surrender my will to You in total obedience, in Jesus name.
