Bible Reading: Proverbs 3: 5-7
Memory Verse: You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
Many people are not where they are because God has forgotten them. Sometimes the real issue is direction. A person can be hardworking, gifted, prayerful, and sincere, yet struggle because they are moving in the wrong direction or at the wrong time.
Before Koinonia finally came to Abuja, Nigeria, Apostle Joshua Selman said some women were interceding desperately for his relocation. Humanly speaking then, it seemed like the right move. He made a very profound statement that as yielded as they were, they nearly got the timing wrong. But as they further considered it prayerfully, God gave a revelation. In the vision, an aircraft was about to land in Abuja, but suddenly it crashed. The message was clear: what appeared good was not God’s timing. A wrong move at the wrong time could have brought unnecessary trouble.
Most times when we get it wrong in life, it is either a problem of divine direction or divine timing. Many failures are not due to a lack of effort but a lack of guidance/direction. Before making major decisions, seek God’s face. The God who knows the future can save you from avoidable mistakes.
Yet there is something else we must understand. Divine direction does not always lead to immediate comfort.
Deuteronomy 32:10 says, “He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.”
Notice that God led Israel into a wilderness before bringing them into their inheritance. The wilderness was not proof that God had abandoned them. It was proof that He was leading them. There, He instructed them, trained them, tested them, and prepared them.
Many believers become discouraged when God’s direction takes them through rough seasons that others do not understand. Friends may mock you. Family members may question your decisions. Opportunities may seem scarce. Progress may appear slow. But if God is the One leading you, do not judge your future by your current surroundings.
The wilderness is often God’s classroom before it becomes His launching pad.
This is why 1 Peter 5:10 encourages us: “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
The wilderness has an expiry date. The season of misunderstanding has an expiry date. The period of waiting has an expiry date. God never leaves His children in the desert forever. He uses it to prepare them for what lies ahead.
Today, ask God not only for blessings but for direction. One instruction from God can save years of frustration. One divine leading can open doors that human effort cannot. And if His direction presently has you in a wilderness season, remain faithful. The same God who leads into the wilderness is the God who leads out of it.
Quote: Many failures are not due to a lack of effort but a lack of divine direction.
Prophetic Decree: May you enjoy divine direction in a way you will most easily understand, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
Father, show me the path of life. Deliver me from wrong decisions and wrong timing. Give me the grace to trust You even when Your direction leads through difficult seasons. Help me to follow Your voice above every other voice, knowing that Your plans for me are good, in Jesus name. Amen.
