Bible reading: Eph. 1:18; 4:23
Memory Verse: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
Those who reject Western education are either myopic in their thinking, or they are unwise religious fanatics or they’ve got a gross to grind with their government. The best thing you can do for anyone is to empower his mind. Beloved, one of the most important things to be done after salvation is Education. The scripture in Romans 12:2 calls it “… transformation by the renewal of your mind”.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” Education is power. Education could be formal and/or informal.
I agree that many who did not go to school and some who became drop outs eventually became wealthy. It is also important to note that many of these people had to brush up in the secret in other to measure up effectively in the society. Of what use is wealth without sound intellectual acumen & good communication skills?
Marjo Kyllonen, Helsinki’s education manager in Finland (2015) said: “We really need a rethinking of education and a redesigning of our system, so it prepares our children for the future with the skills that are needed for today and tomorrow.” He further said, “There are schools that are teaching in the old fashioned way which was of benefit in the beginnings of the 1900s – but the needs are not the same and we need something fit for the 21st century.”
First, Education must point to Jesus, the Creator and the Wisdom of God. It must promote character, resilience and communication skills, rather than just pushing students through “exam factories”.
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Those attending public schools due to financial constraints shouldn’t feel inferior to their private school counterpart. Brace up and maximize the moment. If you will dare to do something remarkable, you may qualify for a scholarship. However, you must not limit yourself only to what is taught within the four walls of your school. Life is a journey of continuous learning. When you stop learning you start dying. Albert Einstein said, “Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.
Quote: If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
Prophetic Word: I scatter every obstacle to your academic progress in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus:1. Ancestral Pharaoh limiting my academic progress, fall down and die, in Jesus name.
2. Every arrow fired into my brain, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
3. O Lord my heavenly father, roll away every obstacle to my academic glory, in Jesus name.
4. My academics become too hot for the enemy to handle, in Jesus name.
