Bible Reading: 1 John 2: 15-17, Matthew 16:26, Hebrews 6:12

Memory Verse: Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. Ecclesiastes 1:2 (KJV)
Consider these scenarios meditatively:

  1. Some ladies left their true loves because some rich guys then lured them with a Benz 190. In the long run, this turned out to be the only car they ever owned till date. They found out too late that true love is invaluable….. Vanity!
  2. A man became popular for engaging in money rituals just to buy the 1980’s edition of the Honda Prelude. You wouldn’t buy that car for #50,000 ($100) today… Vanity!
  3. As a kid, the whole street gathered at a neighbour’s house to watch a drama shown on a “double-door black & white television”. Today, there is plasma television and its almost found in every student’s room… Vanity!
  4. A guy brutally murdered his brother just because he wanted to acquire the rave of the moment – Pathfinder Jeep. That same vehicle is now better described as a coffin… Vanity!
  5. In the early arrival of SIM cards, many people went extra miles before they got one for over #30,000 ($60). Today, it is sold for free. All service providers are begging people to take it for free… Vanity!
  6. What about Santana, Mercedes Benz V boot, 505 Evolution, Toyota Crown?… all overtaken by latest models of Camry, Honda, Bugatti, Bentley, X6, Acura and Infinity…. Vanity!
  7. A guy “declared drinks” because he launched the Nokia-3310 phone in 2002 in Nigeria. Today that phone will embarrass the owner… Vanity!
  8. What about shoes, clothes and bags that used to be the talk of the town in those days, but cannot be used now because they are old fashioned… Vanity!
People are still making the most horrific sacrifices over ‘vanity’ and make enemies over worthless material things. What can I say? Look back at that one thing you want to kill or die for today, and see what becomes of it tomorrow. There is absolutely nothing you can’t achieve. … Take it easy. All you need is a little time and patience and you will thank God without regrets. There is actually nothing in this world that is worth going to hell for; absolutely nothing! Take it easy. Don’t run after the world because you will never catch it. The world will always outrun you.
Quote: Take life easy. Nothing is meant to last forever.
Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from the cares of this world, in Jesus name.
    Prayer Focus
  9. Thank you Jesus for teaching us simplicity while you walk the surface of the earth.
  10. I receive with meekness the engrafted word of God which is able to save my soul.
  11. O Lord, overshadow me with the garment of simplicity and modesty, in Jesus name.
  12. I come against the spirit of worldliness, in Jesus name
  13. O Lord, detach my heart from the cares of this earth, in Jesus name.
