WHAT YOU MUST DO TO OVERCOME MASTURBATION (1)

WHAT YOU MUST DO TO OVERCOME MASTURBATION (1)

Bible reading: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

Memory Verse: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)

1. Protect your thoughts by avoiding pornographic materials: Satan keeps people bound in masturbation. The devil keeps feeding their mind with trash thereby keeping them in bondage. You must realize that everything we do or act out in the physical realm is only as a result of our thoughts. Our thoughts comes from the spirit of God within us, the devil or from our environment i.e. our five sensory organs – eyes (what we see), ears (what we hear), hands (what we touch), tongue (what we taste), and nose (what we smell).

Please take note of the five senses! For example, when you see some graphic pictures, an automatic signal is sent to your brain. Your brain then turns those signals into thoughts. On the other hand, thoughts produce feelings. Once the thoughts come to our mind, our feelings then correspond to what we have thought about. Then, our thoughts generate a corresponding feeling. Feelings then lead us to actions accordingly. When those actions are repeated over time, they become our habits. This therefore leads us to the very secret of how to overcome masturbation, negative addictions, or any other bad habit. We must go back to where the journey starts – Make sure you don’t look at pictures, movies and images that will arouse or provoke your sexual desires.

I know that in the world we live today, it is almost impossible to totally eliminate such images from our sights. The statistics of sexual suggestion to an average man stands at one million suggestions within a year. So every man stands a chance of been tempted sexually a million times in a year. That is about 3,000 suggestions in a day. However, through our decisions and purposeful actions to control what we see, hear, touch, etc, we can significantly reduce the destructive influence of sexual suggestions in our minds, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

2. Talk to someone you can trust about it: Masturbation thrives in secrecy. Break its backbone and share your problem with someone you can trust.

3.  Avoid bad friends and wrong influence. Remember, evil communications corrupts good manners.

Quote: What you see & read produces what you think and what you think determine how you act. Be careful of what you see and read.

Prophetic Prayers: I command the Spirit of God to raise a standard against the flood gate of hell continuously banging on the door of your heart in Jesus name.

Prayer point:

  1. Holy Spirit, help me to carefully choose what I see and read in Jesus name.
  2. I cast down every evil imagination and every high thing in my heart; and I bring every thought to the obedience of Christ, in Jesus name.
