Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 6: 17-19

Memory VerseI command the rich of this world that they not be lifted up in their minds and that they would not trust upon wealth because there is no certainty concerning it, but upon THE LIVING GOD, who gives richly to us all for our comfort. 1 Timothy 6:17 (ABPE)

Sometimes what penury cannot do, prosperity will do better. Do you know that the only reason why some people think they are humble is simply because they haven’t tasted wealth? Only time will tell. When your story, life, and status changes, I hope your Christian values will remain intact? Friends, don’t trust yourself. The arm of flesh will fail you. Today, you are churchy – you attend weekly services, weekly evangelism, weekly visit to orphanage homes, etc, what happens when your most desired job arrive? Hope you will not turn your heart away from God? The test of who you are is in the consistency of your journey of faith in God in whatever situation.

Not for fame or glory should you serve God. Not for silver or gold should you serve God. Not for contract or appointment should you serve God. Serve God simply because you love Him. Brethren, make Jesus the centre of your life. A season will come, and another will go, but your convictions and values must be unshaken in Christ. With a little promotion, some hitherto brethren have become so pompous. A little societal rise, some people are now raising their shoulders to their father in the Lord. That is the way of the flesh and not the Spirit. What shall separate us from the love of Christ?

How do we maintain our spiritual balance and mental sanity in our character as God lifts us?

1. Examine yourself (Psalm 26:2): Ask yourself – If God refuses to give me my lifelong request, will He still be God in my heart? Again, after God has given me my earnest desires, will He still be the Lord of my life?

2. Deal with foundational spirit of pride.

3. Pray for a contrite heart and a broken spirit.

4. Maintain a daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit: Don’t trade your personal daily fellowship for anything.

5. Be accountable to a mentor, your Pastor, and/or your guardian.

6. Sincerely examine yourself daily.

Quote: Why do you want God to prosper you?

Prophetic Decree: Money shall not deprive you of eternity, in Jesus name.
