Yesterday, we began to peruse into the various things people live for. Today, we shall now conclude this. People also live for:

5. Deliverance / Breakthrough: So many people are running from pillar to post in search of deliverance and breakthrough. Some become so engrossed and miss the purpose of the delay, breakthrough, or deliverance they are searching for. Beloved, with God, you can find purpose in your pain. When the breakthrough comes, what next? If truly you are walking with God in the season of your pain, you will discover He permitted the pain/challenge for a reason, and for a bigger agenda. In all your findings, don’t miss God!

6. Spiritual father or Pastor:  It is sad but true that as important as spiritual fathering is, some people have relegated/neglected their own mandate and embraced their father’s mandate. The Church of Christ needs a balance. “You must follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ,” Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1 (CEV). Christ must be at the centre of any relationship. Don’t make your father’s mistake your own mistake. Follow intelligently! There’s a need for discernment and discretion. Any spiritual oversight that does not point you back to Jesus Christ, the owner of the Church, is faulty. In addition, you are not anointed to solve all problems, or to do everything. Know your spiritual niche. 

7. Pleasure:  Some people can’t wait to see every Friday night. They always ‘thank God it is Friday’. They are thanking God because of the adultery, fornication, clubbing, partying, eating, and drinking they will embark on. Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God! What a cliché to describe their lustful passions! Remember food robbed Esau of his prophetic destiny. Remember ‘partying’ robbed Dinah of her inheritance. Remember it was love for strange women that robbed Samson of his destiny as a judge over Israel. Be warned. Live only for Jesus.

Prophetic Decree: May the Holy Ghost capture your hearts, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus 

1. I break the grip of the ephemeral pleasures of this world upon my earth, in Jesus name. 

2. I bring my senses under the dominion of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name. 

3. Authority of darkness upon my soul, break, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit, please help me to yield to your nudges, promptings, and voice in Jesus name.

5. I receive grace to follow intelligently, in Jesus name.
