Scripture Reading:    Daniel 2:1-17

Memory verse for the week:   John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)

“…and the overall best student for the session is Akakpo Ezekiel”. These were the words of the Principal of Great Life International College in the just concluded annual speech and prize giving day.

These words will not stop to echo in the ears of Akin, a student from Nigeria, who is finding life hard as a commercial student in the senior secondary school arm of the college, in far away Ghana.

“When will luck shine on me?” Akin asked rhetorically. He desperately wished he was the one called out among his peers before the entire school in such an event televised live by his country’s national broadcasting station in Accra, Ghana. He knew there’s got to be a change.

Pronto, he made up his mind to change his circle of friends who were more of gangsters than students, moved closer to Ezekiel, the overall best student, and other destiny-oriented student. He watched his grades improve before his very eyes!

Daniel, from our text scripture had three companions of like minds whom he couldn’t do without. These friends contributed greatly to his success story.

Go and do likewise!

Proverbs 13:20 “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.” (NKJV)

ACTION WORD:       YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE OF THE FRIENDS YOU KEEP.

PRAYER POINT:

1) Wind of change; blow in my life, in the name of Jesus.

2) Any grip of unfriendly friend in my life, break, in the name of Jesus.

A myth is a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone which is usually unfounded and a false notion.
