Bible Reading: Psalm 51:5
Memory Verse: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. Galatians 3:13 (ESV)
Generational curses exist not because God is cruel, but because God is just, orderly, and covenantal. Below are the major biblical reasons:
A. Because God Operates by Covenant Laws: God relates to humanity through covenants, and covenants carry blessings for obedience, and consequences for disobedience. Deuteronomy 11:26 says, “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse.” Families often enter covenants unknowingly through idol worship, blood sacrifices, occult practices, or ungodly alliances binding generations after them.
B. Because Iniquity Is Deeper Than Sin: Sin is an act. Iniquity is a bent nature or inclination toward sin. Psalm 51:5 says, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity.” Iniquity creates a spiritual weakness that passes from parent to child unless it is dealt with spiritually.
C. Because Spiritual Doors Were Opened: Idolatry, witchcraft, sexual perversion, bloodshed, and injustice open legal doors in the spirit realm. Ephesians 4:27 says, “Neither give place to the devil.” When doors remain open, Satan exploits them across generations.
D. Because Patterns Are Taught and Reproduced: Not all generational curses are mystical. Some are modeled behaviours such as anger, abuse, fear, unbelief, and laziness. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go.” Children inherit both spiritual and behavioural patterns.
E. Because Knowledge Was Lacking: Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Take note, the Bible says, “My people”. His people under the new covenant are called born again Christians. Friends, what is not understood cannot be confronted. Many believers love God but never confront ancestral foundations. It is one thing to know what Christ did for you on the Cross of Calvary when He shed His Blood, and it is another thing for you to enforce it. The finished work of the Cross without appropriation will not change the evil narrative in your family (Deuteronomy 2:24).
Quote: The Bible does not end with curses. It ends with redemption. Enforce your rights.
Prophetic Decree: By the finished works of the Cross I bring an end to the activities of evil curses in your family line, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 1-6
HYMN: AMAZING GRACE, HOW SWEET THE SOUND
1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
2. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
3. Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
4. The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
5. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
6. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
7. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
