Bible Reading: Psalm 136: 1-26

Memory Verse: Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth. Psalm 105:5 (NKJV)

Many of us are beginning to take God for granted. This is not meant to be so. Familiarity must not breed contempt. A true disciple of Christ must learn to thank God for each single act of goodness. The first thing you should do when you enter into your house, when you are about to drive, when you are about to pray, when you receive your pay check, when you receive a shocking news, etc, is to thank God. Jesus, when teaching his disciples to pray said, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallow be thy name…” (Luke 11:2). The protocol of prayer is such that you must enter into God’s gates with thanksgiving in your heart, and His courts with praises (Psalm 100:4). Though you have been battling with a serious sickness for a while now, thank God because it is by His mercies you are still alive. While you’re complaining of the economic hardship, it is by His mercies you can still feed. The enemy planned something worse. While you’re complaining of lack of promotion in your place of work, it is by His mercies you’re still employed. While you’re complaining of an accident that got you injured, you forget that it was by His mercies you didn’t lose your life to the same accident. While you grumble about your spouse that is not understanding, you forget that it is by His mercies you are still married. While you murmur about the slow pace of certain developmental milestones of your children, you forgot what it cost the host of heaven for you to deliver safely in the labour room. The enemy actually wanted a still birth. While you are sad that the contract did not come your way, the one who knows tomorrow deliberately diverted it. He wouldn’t want your money get stuck for several years. Brethren, there are very many things God is doing in our lives that He doesn’t even give us a glimpse of. He spares us the details because they are deeper than what our current level of faith can carry. Let the people praise Him. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name. I have come to a solemn conclusion: God cannot be wrong over my life though I may not presently understand all that is happening around me. He is too faithful to fail me. Let this mindset be in you, too.

Quote:  When praises and gratitude goes up as an incense unto God, blessings comes down.

Prophetic Decree: Receive a garment of praises for the spirit of heaviness, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your hand of mercies and grace over my life

2. After the order of King Jehoshaphat, as I praise you, O Lord, my enemies shall slaughter themselves, in Jesus name.

3. As I praise my king, the Lord shall arise and grant me access into his secret chambers.

4. As I worship you O Lord, may I receive inspiration that will move my life forward by fire, in Jesus mighty name.

5. With the high praise of God in my mouth and a two edged sword in my hand, I execute vengeance upon my enemies, in Jesus mighty name.
