Scripture Reading:   Psalm 111:10, Prov. 6:6-11

Memory verse for the week:   Prov. 6:6

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.”

Knowledge simply means to gather facts. Understanding is to know the facts gathered, and wisdom is to apply the facts you now know. The Lord by wisdom founded the earth and by understanding established the heavens. Prov.3:19.

One good feature of a wise student is that he doesn’t waste time. A man of wisdom attends promptly and dutifully to all his assignment. Many a teenager is fond of jesting and walking about their school and church premises when important things that will benefit them are going on. This attitude is not Christ-like.

A wise student does not wait for the school term to begin before reading his books. He/she gets the syllabus of the coming term and read ahead of time. A wise student has got foresight, he has got vision. Such a teen prepares beforehand. Wisdom is quality thinking and planning.

Consider the ants thou sluggard…Prov.6:6.  Some teenagers sleep too much while others are simply too lazy. Lazy to wash their clothes, to wash the dishes, to empty the bin, to iron their clothes, update their notes, and participate actively in a group assignment. This attitude is not found in Jesus.

Some teenagers become moody after being corrected by their parents. Even God chastises those he loves. Heb 12:6, Prov.3:12, Rev. 3:19. It is fools that despise instructions. Prov. 1:7.

ACTION WORD:       THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I receive fresh baptism of wisdom, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Jesus the wisdom of God, come into my heart today, in the name of Jesus. 1 Cor. 1:24.
