Bible Reading: Philippians 4: 6-7

Memory VerseDon’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

Worry is a negative emotion that is characterized by excessive anxiety, concern, and fear about future events or problems. It is a normal human emotion that everyone tend to experience from time to time. However, as Christians, we are expected to live a higher life. The Zoe life! Philippians 4:6 (KJV) says, “Be anxious for nothing…”.

That is not a plea, but a commandment! Let God do the worry. When worry becomes excessive and persistent, it can interfere with our ability to live our lives to God’s fullest, and could open the door for evil spirits to perch on one’s mind. A research from Cornell University shows that 85% of what people worried about never came through.

Why do we worry? There are many reasons why people worry. Some common triggers include:

1. Uncertainty: We often worry about things that are uncertain or unpredictable, such as job security, financial stability, or health problems.

2. Perfectionism: People who strive for perfection may worry about making mistakes or not being good enough.

3. Past experiences: Negative experiences from the past can make us more likely to worry about similar situations in the future.

4. Personality: Some people are simply more prone to worry than others.

What are the side effects of worry? Worry can have a number of negative effects on our physical and mental health. It can lead to symptoms such as:

A. Physical symptoms: Headaches, stomach aches, muscle tension, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping

B. Mental symptoms: Anxiety, depression, irritability, and difficulty concentrating

Way out of worry? 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT), “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you”. Simply leave your worries at the feet of the Father and forget about it. Talk to God about your worries, and then forget about it as you continuously claim His promises and give thanks. Can you read our memory verse for today again?

Quote:  Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength – Dale Carnegie.

Prophetic Decree:  Let the activities of Beelzebub spirit come to an end in your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I silence the voice of demon inspired worries, in Jesus name.

2. Blood of Jesus laminate my heart from worries, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to lay all my worries at the feet of the Cross, in Jesus name.

4. I receive the spirit of thanksgiving in exchange for the garment of heaviness, in Jesus name.

5. I receive peace like a river because God has promised to keep me in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV).
