Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, Habakkuk 3: 17-19

Memory Verse: The Lord God is my strength: and he will make my feet like the feet of harts: and He the conqueror will lead me upon my high places singing psalms. Habakkuk 3:19 (DRB)

She is a teacher in her mid-fifties. One thing that distinguished her from other teachers is that she is always radiating with a smile. One day, a young female student from a broken home who was always encumbered with her family problems walked up to her. “Ma, why are you always happy?” She responded, “When I wake up every morning, I stand before the mirror to say two things to myself: 1. Today, I choose to focus on what makes me happy. 2. I choose to ignore all that makes me sad. Hmm…the power of choice! God seems to have pressed a reset button with recent happenings all over the world. Shall we face the truth? Many are not happy with their present situation. Many are out of jobs.

Many have been fired. Many people are leaving from hand to mouth. Many have had to change location. Infact, the Medical and Pharmaceutical companies also seems to be a little confused. In April 2021, India recorded 314,835 new coronavirus cases within 24 hours (the highest ever recorded in one day), while deaths rose by 2,104 amidst shortage of oxygen and overcrowded hospitals. However, the Bible is certain about our disposition as Christians. We are from Zion. Here on earth, we reign as ambassadors from God’s holy city. Habakkuk 2: 17-18 (KJV) says, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom…yet, I will rejoice in the Lord…” Be strong dear soldier of Christ. Like the teacher in our aforementioned story, choose only to focus on the good things of life no matter how little.
What is happening around you is not as important as what is happening within you. Meanwhile, you need to look inward in this season. Despite the hardship and famine in the land of the Philistines, Isaac sowed and reaped an hundred fold (Gen. 26:12). You’ve got to be dynamic and innovative to keep up with this changing times. Upgrade your thinking, beloved. Think outside the box. COVID-19 has only helped companies like eBay, Zoom, Facebook, etc., to reach greater heights. Be flexible. Work differently. Create an online presence for your products and services. The world is now at your fingertips. There are many countries in total lock down yet, people are transacting online. Receive divine inspiration to live above the challenges of life in Jesus name (Job 32:8).
Quote: Two things: 1. Focus on the good things in your life. 2. Innovate.
Prophetic Decree: Today, I come against anything fighting your joy, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus

  1. Giver of joy and happiness, how excellent is your name in all the earth.
  2. Joy killers, die by fire, in Jesus name.
  3. I receive the Spirit of joy overflow, in Jesus name.
  4. I enter into the wisdom room of heaven, and I receive fresh impactation of wisdom to blossom amidst surrounding hardship, in Jesus name.
  5. I refuse to be depressed or hopeless, in Jesus name.
  6. For me and my family, we are like a tree planted by the river side, in Jesus name (Psalm 1:3).
