Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:20
Memory Verse: And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. Hebrews 12:13
2 Chronicles 20:20b, “Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” From the above scripture, it is possible to be established (grounded, Holy Ghost fire brand, tongue speaking, working in the gifts of the spirit, etc.) yet broke. Your walk with God will make you a threat to the kingdom of darkness, but your prosperity is tied to the blessings of your God-assigned spiritual father; your prophet. You don’t embrace one and despise the other.
Archbishop Duncan Williams reveals one of the secrets of Bishop Oyedepo’s wealth. Talking in his Church in Accra, he once said: If you look at the Nigerian Church, they are huge, they are big, they are mega and they are doing very well than the Church in Ghana. It is because they understand principles we don’t understand. When the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa was alive, I used to go to his bedroom with Bishop Oyedepo and he always tell me, “Son, your brother is helping me a lot.” Bishop Oyedepo brings a cheque every year to take care of the bills, the salaries, electricity bills, everything for the University for an Entire Year.
He will bring a cheque to Baba and I used to hear Baba’s prayer when we go to his bedroom: “Because you took away my sweat, you will not sweat in Lagos.” Hum….so the secret of great men is in their stories. Men become great by the secret available to them at their disposal which they practice sacrificially. Honour your spiritual father. “While you may have many teachers, you should have a particular Father-in-the-Lord you overwhelm with gifts or service. Doing this will ensure that the man of God takes up your case persistently with God.” – Pastor E.A. Adeboye.
Your prosperity is tied to a prophet. Finally, do everything possible not to attract a curse from your biological or spiritual parents. Remember the Lord confirms the word of His servants and performs the counsel of His messengers (Isaiah 44:26).
Be warned: There are many fake prophets whose god is their belly. By their fruits you shall know them. Receive grace for discernment.
Quote: It is the tasty food that provokes the oil to flow – Archbishop Duncan Williams
