Bible Reading: Job 5:17-18
Memory Verse: To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. Proverbs 12:1 (NLT)
Strive to be disciplined in the following areas:
1. Food: Remember Esau. He sold his birthright for a pot of pottage. It was through food Man fell in the garden of Eden. Great men have fallen due to uncontrolled appetite for food. The number one temptation Jesus faced after a 40-day dry fast was food related. Satan attacks man by mounting pressure on his person, his wants and his needs. Don’t just eat anything anywhere. Eating in the dream many times is a bad omen. It is the beginning of diverse sicknesses in the life of many.
2. Excessive pleasure: Proverbs 21:17 (CEV) says it all, “Heavy drinkers and others who live only for pleasure will lose all they have”. Must you hang out with your alcohol drinking friends, party lovers, and chain smoker friends after work? When will you start living your life to please the Lord? There is no sin going straight home immediately after work. Recreate with your family. “Worldly pleasure is a game of weaklings, don’t subscribe to it”
3. Ignorance: What you don’t know is bigger than you. Some people need to scrap off three weeks in prayers and fasting asking God for just one thing: “O Lord, show me who I am”, “O Lord, show me the secret of my problems”. My people perish because they lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Furthermore, invest time reading the Bible and other Christian literatures in order to gain more wisdom needed to reign in life.
4. Love for money: Money is a defence. Money answers all things. But, the love of money is the root of all evil. How can a father defile all his female children because he wants more money? Deep occultic practices happens when the soul of a man make money his god.
5. Friends: The picture of your future is revealed by your association. Carefully choose your friends. “One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” Proverbs 13:20 (WEB). Evil communications corrupts good manners (1 Cor 15:55).
6. Your tongue: “For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.” 1 Peter 3:10 (NLT). Your words are the building blocks of your destiny. Words are not ordinary. They are spirit and life.
Quote: Discipline makes weak people formidable, while lack of discipline weakens even the strongest.
Prophetic Decree: You will not regret your life at the end of time, in Jesus name.
