Bible reading: Matthew 25:14-30.

Memory verse:  A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men. Proverbs 18:16 (NKJV)

Don’t tell me you’re planning to add to the league of ever increasing jobless graduates the world count year-in, year-out. YOU ARE BIGGER THAN THAT. Gone are the days you wait for the government tirelessly to determine your destiny. Hey… you’ve got to look inside of you.

Your talent is your natural aptitude or skill. It was given to you by God. It refers to the natural ability to be good at something, especially without being taught. It is innate. Talents are in-borne.  There are talents kept in you by God to fulfill God’s purpose for your life and bless your pocket on earth.

It is your responsibility to discover your talents. What do you have flare for? What would you want to do whether you’re being paid or not?  What can you never do without? What makes you happy when you’re doing it? What is that thing that could make you forget eating? These are prophetic pointers to your talents.

Nevertheless, talent alone is not enough. You need to keep developing your talents. Educate the grace you carry continuously to be ever relevant. Polish the talent within you. An unrefined gold is of low market value.

Examples of Some Talents

  1. Tailoring:  Some love to sew clothes while it’s a difficult task for others. A male friend of mine sews cloth during school days.
  2. Teaching / Lecturing /Facilitating /Public speaking: Some people can talk for 10hrs at a stretch enjoying themselves heartily.
  3. Interior decoration: Some are engraced with the ability to combine colours. I know of a graduate who left her accounting job to do this full time.
  4. Upholstery / Furniture making:  A graduate friend I met in my NYSC days has a flare for upholstery / furniture making. Today, it is his means of livelihood.

Quote:  Discover, develop & use your talents to the glory of God.

Prophetic Word: May your talents bring you before kings, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

  1. My sleeping talents arise & shine in Jesus name.
  2. Talent destroyers, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Holy Spirit, wake up my dead Lazarus, in Jesus name.

Many pay attention to what is happening rather than what is going on. One of the greatest challenges in life and destiny is the temptation to focus only on what is happening i.e. the immediate, visible, noisy events around us while failing to discern what is really going on...
