Bible Reading:  Joshua 14: 7-8

Memory Verse: For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)

The condition of a man’s heart can affect what and how he sees things. The principle is this: “You see things the way you are in your heart and not the way those things are”. If you are fearful at heart you will see things from a fearful perspective. Imagine two people looking at a glass containing water midway into the glass. One person says, “The glass cup is half empty”, and the other says “The glass cup is half full.” Both have said the same thing but from two different perspectives according to the condition of their hearts. The former is a pessimist while the latter is an optimist.

Look at Caleb in our Text: “Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to spy out the land, and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart. Nevertheless, my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God”. You see that this man spoke as it was in his heart. Each one of the twelve spies spoke about Canaan as it was in their hearts (Numbers 14). “As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is” (Prov. 23:7). The condition of a man’s heart will affect what and how he sees things. That is why the Bible warns us to protect our hearts with all diligence (Prov. 4:23). If you must see well you must open yourself to the Spirit of God, live a life of worship, be an addicted Bible lover, remain ever prayerful, read motivational books by spirit filled Christians and work with friends who will inspire you at all times. The real you is the person in your inside!

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...

Many people understand the idea of investing. You put time, money, or effort into something today because you expect a greater return tomorrow. Farmers invest seeds into the soil. Business people invest money into opportunities. Students invest time into studying...
