Bible Reading: Matthew 13: 1-9, 20-21

Memory Verse:“But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.” Matthew 13: 20-21(NKJV)

We shall continue in the second category in the parable of the sower. There are a lot of “spiritual gymnasts” in the church of today. Suddenly, you hear “Ride on Pastor”, “I hear you”, “this Pastor is making sense”. At other times, as a norm, the congregation give a clap for the man of God at regular intervals as if he is making a speech to their public delight. All manner of nefarious activities in the Church of God of today. A stony/ rocky heart becomes unnecessarily excited; others even lift up the church chairs in “holy ecstasy”. What a pity. When asked what the preacher said, they say, for example: “The message was powerful”, “That man is loaded”. The man of God was so powerful and anointed that you could not lay your hands on anything? Their heart was not in a right state for the Word to find a root in their heart. A little blow from the stormy wind of life which present itself in temptations, trials or persecution; they stumble. Repent today.

There is a faith our fathers handed over to us. We are to receive the Word of God with sobriety of heart. The Bible says, “Be ye sober” (1 Peter 5:8). Sobriety does not mean dullness; rather it describes a state of heart that is tuned to the frequency of the Holy Spirit; a state of heart that is fertile and well prepared to receive the undiluted Word of God. Keep a calm spirit and let God speak to you.

Quote: With humility, receive the engrafted Word of God.

Prophetic Decree: A surgical operation that will remove your heart of stone shall occur today, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. I repent of any way I might have converted the house of the Lord to a market place, in Jesus name.
  2. My Father, replace my heart of stone with the heart of flesh, in Jesus name.
  3. Resurrection power, enter into my heart, in Jesus name.
  4. Power of the Cross, cross out every demonic work of the flesh in my heart, in Jesus name.
  5. I receive grace to accept the Word with sobriety of heart, in Jesus name.
