Bible Reading:  Psalm 34: 11-13

Memory VerseWith long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalms  91:16 (KJV)

Rev. Samuel Akinbode Sadela, popularly called Pa Sadela was born on the last Sunday of August 1900 and lived till Year 2014. He died at the age of 114. He was a remarkable man of God who was instrumental to almost all the Christian revivals which happened in Nigeria. He put an amazing 82 years into the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was the founder of the Gospel Apostolic Church. He once had a time out with a journalist four years before he passed on to glory:

Q1. Papa, how does it feel to be 110 years?

A1. Well, I feel calm.  I know I am quite healthy, my body is well and sound.  I thank God for my life.

Q2. It is obvious that you are looking strong and still talking very well.  What is the secret even at 110?

A2. The secret is my believe in Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is the secret.

Q3. What advice do you have for young people, who want to live longer?

A3. I advise them to be truthful, to have faith in God and not be hypocrites.

Similarly, Pa Akintola Williams is one of the foremost Chartered Accountant in Nigeria who turns 102 this year 2022. He said, “The secret of my longevity is moderation. In everything I do, I strive to be moderate, and I mean moderate, a little of this and a little of that – not too much. Whether it is what you eat, what you drink, or whatever you do, just be moderate and you will live a refreshing, strong, and fulfilling life.

When you are excessive in your daily life activities, you lose a life and its fantastic quality. But when you keep it moderate, you will not only be in control but enjoy life abundantly. Also, you have to endeavour to live a simple life, avoid controversies, conflicts, over-ambition, just live a simple life and life will be your friend. Please always take enough rest. I always observe my siesta, sleep about eight hours every day, and generally have enough rest. Your body is your priceless possession, so, please do not abuse it.”
