Bible Reading:  Revelation 2: 1-5, Matthew 24:12

Memory Verse:  But I do have something against you! And it is this: You don’t have as much love as you used to. Revelations 2:4 (CEV)

Some parents love their children to the extent of standing as a hindrance to the fulfillment of the purpose of God for their lives, sometimes unknowingly, when their plans are not in consonance with the perfect plan of God for their children. This is otherwise called blind love!

The only addiction you must have is God. Your first love must be God Himself. You must prioritize your personal relationship with God more than anything else. More than your spouse, children, ministry, work or even other kingdom obligation and kingdom services. This is a strange truth.

Please don’t get it twisted, the aforementioned are equally important, but you must prioritize your first love which is YOUR PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD above anything else. Friend, do you still know God? Can you still perceive His ways? Do you sense His Shekinah presence and glory? Are you still heavenly conscious? Is there a gap between your yesterday’s love and your today’s love for Jesus? Above all, do you have an undying quest for more of Him? Only a man who has a current relationship with God can administer an acceptable service unto Him. Think on these things.

Ponder: In his book, “Good Morning, Holy Spirit”, Pastor Benny Hinn said, “The first thing he does when he wakes up every morning is to acknowledge the presence of God the Holy Spirit by simply saying, “Good Morning, Holy Spirit”. Dear friend, when you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Your phone? Your ministration for the day? Your children’s school fees? Your spouse’s needs? Or, your service as a Church worker? Why not lay aside all these “important things” and lift up your hands to heaven as you fan your relationship with the lover of your soul into flames. Remember, anything can become a distraction; even the seemingly good things.

Prayer Focus

1. Sing the song by GUC: “I will put you in front…. You and I Jesus… You are all that matters… You are all the matters.

2. I come against the spirit of self-centeredness, in Jesus name.

3. The cares of this world shall not separate me from a daily intimate walk with the Lord per seconds, in Jesus name.

4. Sing the song: Afresh on me. Lord, I want your spirit now afresh on me.

5. Henceforth, spending time with the Holy Spirit shall be my new addiction, in Jesus name.
