Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 15:7, 2 Corinthians 15:58

Memory Verse: But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”  2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)

Winston Churchill said, “Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about”. There comes a time in the life of every man when it seems all hope is lost, dreams won’t be accomplished, investment will go down without returns, profit seems to be dwindling, and you just feel like quiting despite your great input. Know for sure that “there is no failure except in no longer trying” – Elbert Hubbard.

It is amazing that the same person who spoke yesterday with confidence and enthusiasm about a vision, dream, calling, or assignment is weary of moving an inch further. Dear friend, you are not alone. Every champion, soldier, king, leader, player, professional, lion, etc, once felt like giving up but, “winners never quit, and quitters never win” – Vince Lombardi.

Let me announce to you that you have just gotten to a threshold when a new wine, a new strength, a new vigour, a new perspective is just about to burst forth. There is a latent (hidden) energy laying below your seemingly dousing strength. Those in the sciences refers to such as latent heat. It is hidden but real. It is the phase molecules pass through before there is a change in the state of matter e.g. the phase before a solid change to liquid. This will not happen if you give up too soon. “Never give up. There are always tough times, regardless of what you do in anything in life. Be able to push through those times and maintain your ultimate goal” – Nathan Chen

One of the all time World Heavy Weight Champion said, “I start counting how many press-ups I’ve done only when I start to feel like quitting, because that is when it really matters”.

Don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t give up on that business. Don’t give up on that ministry. Don’t give up on your quest for scholarship. Don’t give up on your quest for a change in status. Don’t give up on yourself. Fight on. God is for you. Though weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5b). “Never give up trying to build the world you can see, even if others can’t see it” – Simon Sinek

Quote: Never give up your desire to be what you want to be. Stay focused, persistent and relentless – Debasish Mridha, MD.
