Bible Reading: Jeremiah 9: 23-24, Ecclesiastes 9:11

Memory VerseDo not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.  Romans 11:18 (ESV)

Do you know it is possible to be proud but you don’t know. You can even be preaching about pride even in your proud state. The human heart could be that deceitful. No wonder Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) says, “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Until the sword of God’s word comes to you, you may not be able to truly see yourselves in the mirror of God’s Word. You must be willing to do the Word more than you preach it. Please don’t exalt anything no matter how good (even ministry) above your personal fellowship with God.

But, what is the sure way out of pride? How can I live a pride-free life? It is simply by having a progressively deep understanding that all that you have belong to God, and that you are only privileged to be share part of His glory. Really, you don’t own anything. Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) says, “So he answered and said to me: ‘This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” Please arm yourself with this mindset.

That was the problem of Lucifer before pride turned him to the devil. He glorified in his splendor, beauty, might, wisdom, and proximity with God. He has soon forgotten that the closer you are to God the more reverent you must become of Him. All we have is only a privilege. Really, no one owns anything. 1 Corinthians 4:7 (BSB) says, “For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” The earth is the Lord’s and its fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1).

As soon as Moses saw himself as the one bearing the brunt of the foolishness of God’s people, he erred. Soon, he lost the Promised land. Please arm yourself with this simple mindset: You are only a custodian of God’s glory. You are only privileged to share part of what does not belong to you. All glory belongs to God.

Quote: What is the correct mindset against pride?: “I own nothing. I am only privileged to share in God’s glory.”

Prophetic Decree:  The spirit of pride shall have no place in your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I rebuke every foundational spirit of pride, in Jesus name.

2. Holy Spirit, please break me and mould me to your glory, in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, please keep me humble daily before the throne of grace, in Jesus name.

4. Arrogance, the twin brother of pride shall not have a place in my heart, in Jesus name.

5. Holy Spirit, please help me with this mindset that I am only privileged to share in the glory of God.
