Bible Reading: Daniel 1: 17-21

Memory Verse: ...he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. Daniel 1:20b (NKJV)

Do you know that the legendary referee Pierluigi Collina is the only referee who had the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in his eyes! This referee could communicate in 4 languages on the field (French, Spanish, Italian and English). Before each game, he studied the game and the players of the teams he would lead and learn their names.

During the 2002 World Cup final in Japan, Ronaldo gave him his shirt and the ball. The players from Brazil and Germany had congratulated him on his performance. Footballers had huge respect for him and even fear, just by his presence. He is also the only referee who has been on a video game jacket. And, he cannot be bribed because he has chains of businesses. He is a true legend of the game.

In the world of sports, arts, entertainment, leadership, academics, politics, nation building, etc, there are people who have exceptionally distinguished themselves from the pack. Friends, that’s our place as children of the Most High. You shouldn’t carry the Spirit of Christ and remain at the background. You are the head and not the tail, says the scripture.

What do you do?

1. Desire to be exceptional to the glory of God (and not for fame or self glory)

2. By the Spirit of God, identify your area of specialty and develop your gift.

3. Develop your character.

4. Have a mentor.

5. Be persistent.

6. Seek for the anointing that makes a man exceptional. Psalm 23:5b (AMP) says, “…You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.”

Quote: Don’t give yourself an excuse. Climb to the top of your profession. Keep developing yourself. Success is a journey not a destination.

Prophetic Decree:  All the powers fighting the lifting of your head shall sleep the sleep of death, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus 

1. Shout it: I am a destiny child. I am destined for the top. I will not settle for less, in Jesus name.

2. O Lord, you are the glory and the lifter of my head, lift me up

3. Amongst my contemporaries, O Lord, single me out for excellence.

4. I receive grace to understand that the reason for my lifting is to bring glory to the name of Jesus.

5. My root shall not limit my destiny, in Jesus name.

6. Anti-lifting powers of my father’s house, by cut off, in Jesus name.
