Bible Reading:  Joel 2: 28-32

Memory Verse:  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

In a season when people all over the world are becoming less interested in church, what we need is revival.

What we read in church history and what we see happen in the past was that whenever this happened, some believers would get together in a room somewhere and start praying and seeking the face of God.

Then, a revival would break out in the church that would awaken many Christians who had been asleep and sweep over many unbelievers as well, adding them to God’s people.

What we see nowadays is not revival, but revising of methods. Not prayer but public relations. Not seeking God, but becoming seeker sensitive. Not brokenness but branding.

The mission of the church and the Holy Spirit to the world is to change the world to join the church, but the 21st century strategy seems to be to change the church to accommodate the world.

An altered church cannot win the world. It will become a worldly church. Defeated. It is only a changed world that can join the church.

The key is not to alter. The key is the altar. Only an ‘altar-ed’ church can truly win the world.

And when there is a falling away, the main strategy is prayer. Prayer purifies the church. Coupled with that, for sustainable revival, shall we embrace accurate teaching and understanding of the Word of God.

Then, brokenness, repentance, consecration, compassion, purity, holiness, power, hunger and thirst for righteouness, soul winning, the manifestation of the supernatural, demonstrations and exploits of the power and wisdom of the Spirit, etc., shall effortlessly follow. Branding, publicity, creativity, stage lights and public relations, marketing, and so on are merely secondary.

This will further result to thousands upon thousands of young people gathering to worship God with or without ACs, flowers, meat pies and ‘niceties’; listening to the raw gospel, and going into the world to lead Christian lives to the glory of God.

Quote:  We must leave the “Great Revision” and go back to the Great Commission.

Prophetic Decree: Let the fresh fire of revival sweep over the Church of Christ, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Holy Spirit divine, purge your Church afresh today, in Jesus name.

2. We repent of using other strategies to rekindle the flame of revival other than prayer and the Word of God.

3. Wind of revival, blow over the nations of the earth, in Jesus name.

4. Spirit of revival, Spirit of fervent prayer, sweep over the Church, in Jesus name.

5. We cut off the hand of the devil and flesh over the coming revival, in Jesus name.
