AWAKE TO EVANGELISM AND MISSIONS

Bible Reading: Mark 16: 15-16

Memory Verse:  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting lifeJohn 3:16 (NKJV)

The average Christian knows little or nothing about the Great Commission. Infact, there are many Christians who don’t know the difference between evangelism and missions.

A protégé of Late Prophet Obadare said prior to the death of this God’s General, he was planning a mission trip to India. He said there are 1.3 billion people there who haven’t heard the gospel.

Late Rev. Uma Okpai boldly said that there were moments in his evangelical mission when he smuggled Bibles into China. These are fathers who loved not their lives even unto death (Rev. 12:11b).

Friends, I believe in equipping the body of Christ with balanced knowledge.  Yes, we must preach and teach Bible doctrine, excellence, leadership, kingdom prosperity, diligence, etc. But, we shouldn’t forget the main reason why Jesus came – the souls of men (John 3:16).

When last did you hear the message of evangelism and missions from your church pulpit? Pastor, besides raising money for building project, convention, or annual general meeting of national executives, wouldn’t you raise money to support evangelism and missions?

Arise, O soldier of the Lord. Retrace your steps. Examine your heart. Where is your first love? Souls are indeed perishing. In a video posted on social media, Rev. Isaac Omolehin said something very shocking.  He said there’s a particular place three hours away from Ilorin in Kwara State, Nigeria.

The market women who were asked if they had Jesus in their lives mistook Jesus for a commodity for sale. The women went searching for a commodity called Jesus amongst themselves. If a place that is three hours close to modern civilization have no clue of the person of Jesus, what really is our church growth and expansion drive doing?

Friends, let what bothers the heart of God bothers you. The salvation of the souls of men is most paramount to Jesus.

Challenge

1. Deliberately talk to someone about Jesus daily.

2. Set up a special account for evangelism and missions as a person, family, and as a church.

3. Do well to sponsor the welfare of at least one full time evangelist or missionary in your neighbourhood.

Quote:  The most precious gift to heaven is the souls of men.

Prophetic Decree:  Let the fire of evangelism be lighted upon your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, we are sorry for our carelessness towards evangelism and missions.

2. O Lord, let our hearts burn again for salvation of the souls of men, in Jesus name.

3. O Lord, help the Church of Christ to get our priorities right, in Jesus name.

4. Wisdom for fruitful kingdom evangelism, overshadow our hearts, in Jesus name.

5. I refuse to labour under closed heavens, in Jesus name.

DOUBLE DEALING WITH GOD: A DANGEROUS GAME

Friends, God is not confused about who we are. We may fool people, but we can’t fool Him. Double dealing is when you try to live two lives at the same time—one for God, and one for your flesh, culture, or secret desires...

WHEN FAITH MEETS REAL NEEDS

Let's be clear on this: The primary responsibility of the Church is to lead people to Christ. This is otherwise called salvation. However, transformation within should result in transformation withal because faith without action is dead. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the long run, the Church is the principal agent...
