Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2: 14–15, Romans 13:13-14 (MSG)
Memory Verse: But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:14 (NKJV)
Spiritual intelligence is not necessarily how loud someone prays, how long they fast, or how many scriptures they can quote. All these have their places anyway. Beyond all these, spiritual intelligence is the ability to read situations accurately by the Spirit of God and respond in alignment with God’s will.
1. Spiritual Intelligence Knows When Something Is Not God Even When God’s Name Is Used: A lady is told by a man, “God said you are my wife.” Spiritually unintelligent people panic or submit blindly. Spiritually intelligent people ask questions. They ask: Does this align with peace? Is there inner witness? Does it agree with counsel, character, timing, and wisdom? Because God does not bypass your discernment to speak to someone else about your life. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Spiritual intelligence protects you from spiritual manipulation.
2. Spiritual Intelligence Understands That Temptation Is Often Environmental: Someone struggles with lust because social media is full of nudity, the movies normalise immorality, and even daily environments trigger compromise. Spiritual intelligence does not just pray harder in such situations, it changes exposure. You don’t cast out demons where discipline is required. Romans 13:14 says, “Make no provision for the flesh.” Spiritual intelligence knows that some battles are not only fought on your knees, they are won by wisdom, boundaries, and withdrawal.
3. Spiritual Intelligence Recognises That Answers Are Sometimes Already Inside You: A believer cries endlessly, “God help me!” The Holy Spirit responds, “The answer is already inside you.” Why? The Spirit of God lives in you. Truth has been deposited already. Conviction has spoken before. 1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” Spiritual intelligence listens inwardly, not just outwardly.
Quote: Battles are not only fought on your knees, they are also won by wisdom, boundaries, and discipline.
