Bible Reading: Hebrews 13: 1-2, 1 John 4: 17-21

Memory Verse:  Keep being concerned about each other as the Lord’s followers should. Hebrews 13:1 (CEV)

Do you know that animals that stay close together especially in winter have an higher chance of surviving to see Summer? When Emperor penguins stay together in freezing cold, they cool the outer surfaces of their bodies. Infact, they have to keep rotating so that those in the middle will not overheat.

Sometimes ago, some people were running away from their home in winter. Everyone for himself. A crisis just loomed. On the way, one of the most vulnerable who couldn’t run in the snow slid and fell. Many runner-by left her behind and kept running. But, there was this particular person who was moved with compassion and as such lifted this weak fellow. As he struggled on, he kept seeing the corpse of all those who ran ahead of him. They all had freezed. He kept wandering why he was still alive. Then, he discovered that the warmth provided by the weak girl he carried kept him alive.

The morale of this short parable is community living. Your neighbours are your closest family. Stop being selfish. Life isn’t all about you. Help someone in crisis. Help someone on your way up. Refuse to beclouded with your own present challenges. 

Do you notice that sometimes when you are in need of money then you find people asking you for money? As you release what is in your hand, you activate the angel of prosperity to compel men and resources needed to take of your own needs. That is the law of life. 

Your neighbour is screaming for help. There is an inferno in her kitchen. Due to what happened in time past you refused to heed her clarion call. Are you sure you are a Christian at all? You must learn to separate issues. That’s an emergency. Moreover, don’t you know if the fire is not curtailed your house may be also be gutted with the same fire. O Lord, make me a Christian indeed covered with the garment of love, and not selfishness or hatred.

Prophetic Decree: Receive the love of God shed abroad in your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for always loving me.

2. I receive grace to love the unlovely, in Jesus name.

3. Today, I receive a fresh revelation of the love of God, in Jesus name.

4. Power of love, fill my heart, in Jesus name.

5. I flush out every spirit of hatred, greed, and selfishness, in my life, in Jesus name.
