Bible Reading: Matthew 1: 1-17

Memory Verse: Then God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and
fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so. Gen

Do you wonder why the Bible gives a full description of the parentage (family history) of
a particular set of people as you see in Matthew Chapter One. The Bible is the most
detailed book ever written and as such does not contain any casual Word. God wants us
to carefully observe the family tree, taking note of the similarities in their experiences,
their general failure, exploits, weaknesses and triumph. Beloved, anyone who
understands a bit of Genetics will not take his family history for granted. Your destiny is
connected to your root. How you may end your life is already flowing in your blood. You
may decide to cooperate with it or rebel against it. That is a choice you must make. Have
you heard like father like son? Or, like mother like daughter? When you look into your
family history you can predict the future. You embrace it or you reject it by the power of
the Holy Ghost.
There was a season of famine in the days of Abraham. There was a season of famine also
in the days of Isaac his son. Both had to make critical decisions. Abraham went to Egypt
and picked up Hagar, slept with her, and gave birth to Ishmael. This is the genesis of the
problem of the Middle East. Ishmael is the father of the bond children. Only the mercies
of God prevented Isaac from following that trend.
Also, Abraham had a delay in child birth, Isaac his son had a delay in child birth and Jacob,
his grand son had a delay in child birth when he married Rachel. Three (3) generations of
a particular family experienced the same evil trend. The same is true of the positive
family trend. There are families where father, son and grandchild are exceptionally
brilliant.
Action Word: Observe the family trend of the tribe of Judah. What can you see? What
can you see in your own family, too?

Prayer Focus:

1. Powers that stopped my Parents shall not stop me, in the name of Jesus.
2. I enforce good family flow and reject satanic family flow, in Jesus name.
3. I cut off from every evil family jinx, in Jesus name.
4. I cut off from every evil family trend, in Jesus name.
5. Lord, by your hand which you used in writing the ten commandments, rewrite my
   family history today, in Jesus name.
