Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 17: 1-4, 22-24, 32, 45, 50-51

Memory Verse: Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. David used it to kill him and cut off his head. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they turned and ran. 1 Samuel 17:51 (NLT)

A champion is a person who has surpassed all rivals in a competition or contest. What are the other things champions do?

3. Train Your Mind as Much as You Train Your Body: Most people don’t study, they don’t read. You develop your mind as much as you develop your body. Some people have an empty brain on a beautiful body. Don’t be a young person who only acquires knowledge only from the social media. Grow up! Learn something new in your field. Go for seminars and conferences. Upgrade yourself. Read good books. Add an extra professional qualification. Stay on the cutting edge of your profession. Prosperity and success will not work until your mindset is 100% committed. Don’t be spiritual but with an unrenewed, unregenerated mind. Imagine someone using a typewriter for a office work at this time and age without upgrading.

4. Make the Decision to Fight & Sacrifice For Your Dreams: Dr. David Oyedepo was asked by students of Covenant University what he takes to stay awake at night, and he said, “I take responsibility”. Anybody that will rise must tell himself, “I must discipline myself”. He who walks with great people will not be great unless he does what great people do. It takes discipline to do what others do not want to do. Mohammed Ali once said, “I hate every moment of training, but I need to do what I need to do”. Discipline yourself and get into your future.

5. Decide Failure is Not an Option; Decide to be Persistent: Persistent Insistence Births Success. Challenges will be there, but keep going and you’ll succeed.

6. Stay Under Mentorship & be Accountable to Others: If no one guides and guards you, you will not arise. Be accountable. Submit yourself to tutelage (Galatians 4:1-2).

Quote:  It takes training to develop the champion in you.

Prophetic Decree: Let the champion in you arise and manifest, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. My Father, help me to endure the season of my training, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, help me to perspire and aspire unto victory, in Jesus name.

3. I will not live lesser than my dreams, in Jesus name.

4. O Lord, give me a rugged determination to succeed, in Jesus name.

5. I receive the spirit of humility and submission. I will not despise my mentors, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 6,8-10,14,16,19,21
