Bible Reading: 1 John 2:15-17, 1 Cor. 15:33

Memory VerseGuard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

Though the social media keeps connecting people to one another, and has ease off the pain of information gathering and sharing, it has also posed itself as a very subtle weapon Satan is using to pollute the mind of both the young and old. After the neglect of parental responsibilities, the media is largely responsible for moral decadence in the society. You remember there was a wave of the “Marlians” sometimes ago. Who are the Marlians? They are mostly teenagers and youths who have pledged allegiance to a particular Nigerian musician popularly called Naira Marley. For the girls, on certain days of the week they go everywhere (school, market, etc.) without a bra or pants.

Did I hear you say bizarre? For the boys, they go around without wearing a belt. A notable actor was strongly rebuked for allowing a lap dance to be performed on him by an upcoming actress when the video circulated all around the world. Is this what entertainment is all about? What is the moral lesson of that seductive scene to both old and young? Unfortunately, that’s their selling point. No wonder moral decadence will continue to be a part of our society. Haven’t you heard of children between the ages of 3-6 sleeping with each other? That is what happen when the media is allowed to operate without godly fear and strict censorship rules.

The sex life of those children have been provoked prematurely through what is called “common” in the society. As at the point of writing this devotional, the ‘in-thing” in the air is the “Silhoutte Challenge”. What is it all about? A challenge that encourages the female folks to showcase their bodies in a video in the most seductive manner. As they say, “You’ve got it, show it”. I curse the spirit of immorality, in Jesus name. People are now paid for performing a sexual scene or acting a blue film. Some sleep with all manner of animals to be paid in dollars. What a damage to one’s eternal destiny.

What is the way out?

Proverbs  1:10 “My son, if sinners entice you, consent thou not.”

1. Like Daniel, make up your mind to stand for Jesus in this last day.

2. Keep your mind  productively busy. Acquire a skill, trade, etc.

3. Watch your type of friends. Unfriend any unfriendly friend who post seductive or erotic content on your social media handles. Be strict about who you follow on social media.

4. Parents, please take parenting in this last days as your number one ministry. You will need the wisdom of God, anyway.

5. Rely on God’s grace to keep you till the end by fervent prayers and through in-depth study of the Word.

Quote: The one who has access to what you hear, see, read and feel control your thoughts, and subsequently controls your life.

Prophetic Decree: We bring down altar of perdition raised in the entertainment industry, in Jesus name

Prayer Focus

1. We repent as individuals and nations of Sodomy and immorality, in Jesus name.

2. Revive our hearts, O God.

3. I laminate my heart from sin, lust, and worldliness, in Jesus name.

4. We command a restoration of ancient landmarks, in Jesus name.

5. Let your will be done on earth O God, let thy kingdom come, O Lord, in Jesus name.

6. O Lord, purge the media with your fire, in Jesus name.
