Bible Reading: Romans 6:14

Memory Verse:  But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprootedMatthew 15:13 (NKJV)

Several ways to combat drug abuse include:

1. Spiritual Support

a. Relationship with Jesus: Until Jesus becomes your focus and living for Him becomes your addiction, there’s little the best effort can yield. Jesus remains Lord over all addiction. Jesus is the only Light-giver and yoke breaker.

b. Deliverance: Behind most addiction such as substance abuse is a evil spirit involvement. Cast and bind such spirit that has tied many lives down.

c. Fellowship: You break an evil addiction to form a good addiction. Cultivate personal and corporate fellowship with God. Soak yourself in His presence until the chain of illicit drugs breaks completely.

d. The Word of God and Prayer: Personal Bible Reading, Bible meditation, and Bible memorisation plus fervent prayers are all a must to break away from the shackles of illicit drugs.

2. Prevention:

a. Education: Provide comprehensive drug education programs in schools and communities to teach young people about the dangers of drug use and addiction.

b. Awareness campaigns: Raise awareness about the risks and consequences of drug abuse through public campaigns and media messages.

c. Community programs: Create community-based programs that offer positive activities and support systems for young people.

d. Parental involvement: Encourage parents to monitor their children’s activities, communicate openly, and set clear expectations about drug use.

3. Treatment:

a. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT): Use medications to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings, combined with counselling and therapy.

b. Behavioural therapies: Provide counselling and therapy to help individuals address the underlying causes of their addiction and develop coping skills.

c. Support groups: Facilitate participation in support groups like Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) to provide peer support and encouragement

4. Law Enforcement:

a. Strict enforcement: Enforcing laws against drug possession, distribution, and trafficking to reduce the availability of drugs.

b. Targeted interventions: Focusing on targeting drug dealers and disrupting drug trafficking networks.

c. Collaboration with treatment providers: Working with treatment providers to offer alternatives to incarceration for individuals struggling with addiction.

QuoteUntil your resolution to be free is stronger than your appetite for drugs, your deliverance can’t be complete.

Prophetic Decree: Any altar supervising destiny destruction shall destroy itself, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I bring the judgement of God upon all controlling demons and influences supervising my addiction, in Jesus name.

2. Blood of Jesus erase any demonic appetite for illicit drugs in my life, in Jesus name.

3. Power of God, break my yoke today, in Jesus name.

4. Any friend introduced into my life to fuel my appetite towards destruction, receive a divine red card, in Jesus name.

5. Lord, baptised me with a picture of my destiny-future, in Jesus name.
