Memory Verse: Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? Romans 6:16 (NKJV)
Consecration is a simple but deep topic. It is not for the lazy. To be consecrated means to be dedicated to a thing, person, institution or being. It means to be sold out to every dictate, desires, whimps and caprices of such.
“Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?” The quoted scripture, Romans 6:16 (AMP) talks about consecration.
Until you are consecrated, your loyalty is in doubt. Consecration will make you live your life for a particular purpose according to the required standards, and not according to your own will. A man who is consecrated is dead to his own will and desires. There are layers of consecration. As you fulfill a condition, you prepare for the next layer of consecration until you life looks exactly like the one you are consecrated unto.
Many in this generation do not want to be consecrated unto God. Once upon a time, there were 8 people contesting for the position of a king. In order to elect the new king, the oracle devised a consecration test. The oracle said, “For the next six months, none of the contestants must tell anyone about his ambition, none must drink alcohol, none must sleep with a woman, and none must eat crab.
Anyone who breaks this consecration rites will be smote dead by the god”. Dearly beloved, do you know that only one out of the eight contestants for the throne was alive at the end of the six months. They all desired to be king but they didn’t have the capacity and inner fortitude to consecrate themselves to the requirements of the oracle. See what men go through in order to cling a crown that perishes away in time.
Similarly, as Christians we are from a royal lineage. If you must weird power and authority on earth, you must go the way of consecration. Ask God’s servant, A.A Allen before he saw mighty works of God wrought through him. Friends, you must die daily to self, and embrace radical consecration unto God.

1. Arrow of spiritual laziness fired into my life, backfire, in Jesus name.
2. Holy Spirit, please give me grace to pay the price of consecration unto you, in Jesus name.
3. I receive daily grace for self-denial, in Jesus name.
4. Holy Spirit, please baptise me with a fresh hunger for more of you and your power, in Jesus name.
5. Fresh appetite for the Word and prayer engulf my heart, in Jesus name.
