Bible Reading: Matthew 18: 21-35
Memory Verse: Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you until seven times, but until seventy times seven. Matthew 18: 21-35 (AFV)
It was Lewis B. Smedes who said, “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you”.
1. Mr Boss framed up an emergency assignment to be submitted to his foreign counterpart that same night. With the kind permission of her husband, the Mrs Secretary agreed to stay a little longer at work. Unknowing to her, it was a set up. Her boss defiled her and it resulted to a pregnancy. Now her problem just got compounded. Her husband said he must abort, while her boss said he will fight her to stand still should she abort because he’s being looking for a child. Trouble within and withal after two teenage daughters! The pregnancy eventually came down on its own. To my surprise, when tending her resignation letter she said to her boss, “I forgive you, allow Jesus into your life”.
2. A rich politician in the neighborhood used her son for money ritual. She found the carcass of her son in a soak away. Imagine the agony piercing through her heart. While granting a worldwide interview amidst tears and deep anguish, she reiterated, “I must forgive him in order to make heaven”.
Now to you: Who have you locked up with chains and fetters in the garden of your heart? Your spouse, child, relative or colleague? No wonder your heart has suddenly become a breeding ground for the spirit of Beelzebub because of the resentment, unforgiveness, and arch-hatred locked up therein. Friends, you only hurt yourself when you don’t forgive. Let it go. Vengeance belongs to God and He has promised to repay IN HIS OWN TIME (Romans 12:19). Don’t take the responsibility of the Almighty.
Quote: Vengeance is not what God has. Vengence is who God is.
Prophetic Decree: I untie the long rope of unforgiveness afflicting your heart, in Jesus name
Prayer Focus:
1. Thank you Father for the grace to forgive my (mention the name(s) of the person who hurt you)
2. I rebuke and eject the spirit of unforgivingness, in Jesus name.
3. Spirit of Beelzebub come out of my heart, in Jesus name.
4. I break the stronghold of negative emotions and feelings in my heart, in Jesus name.
5. I receive the gift of the love of God shed abroad in my heart, in Jesus name.
