Topic:  FEAR (2)

Bible reading: Judges 6:11-27

Memory Verse:  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (NKJV)

Many who are meant to be super stars very early in life are, through the instrumentality of the spirit of fear from the devil’s Armory struggling to discover themselves. Fear has prevented many from living a great life. Fear makes a man risk averse. Fear is a bondage (Romans 8:15). Fear makes her victims indecisive. They keep procrastinating what should have been done. They are afraid to ‘face their Goliath’.

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.  – H. P. Lovecraft

The fear of the Midianites forced Gideon to be threshing wheat in a wine vat. A mighty warrior in the eyes of God hiding for a common enemy! God wants us all to move from fear to faith and from cowardice to courage. Some are afraid of a particular subject or examination. They forget that it is another man with only one head like they have who wrote the subject or set the exam. Some are afraid of dark areas, or looking down from great a height. Others are afraid of cockroaches, cats and flying insects. Where have you kept your dominion right as a child of the Most High? There is no fear in faith in the Lord.

I am yet to see a man who stepped out to do the uncommon but failed and was beaten in the full glare of the public. The worst that could happen is for friends and foes to make jest of such. And so what? Many who know the correct answer to the question asked by the teacher are afraid to stand up before their classmates to answer confidently. What a shame! They rob themselves and their destinies the glory of being heros or heroines. Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. Dogged faith in God is the cure for fear.

Quote: The presence of faith is the death of fear- Dr Paul Enenche.

Prophetic Word: Let the Spirit of fear go back to the sender, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

  1. I challenge every activity of the spirit of fear in my education, in the name of Jesus
  2. Holy Spirit, baptize me with the spirit of faith in the name of Jesus.
  3. My Father, set me on fire, in Jesus name.
  4. I command peace to every raging storm, in Jesus name.
  5. Fear of the unknown working in my life, die, in Jesus name.
