Scripture Reading:                    Prov.16:17.

Memory verse for the week:      Job 14:7

“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.”(NKJV)

Having said my early morning prayers, I decided to update myself on the recent happenings all over the world with particular emphasis on Nigeria.

The rapid increase of dubious financial dealings filled the air. Billions of Naira starched into one man’s account or misappropriated by committee members, or traced to one foreign account. My heart sinks within me. I tried to put myself in the shoes of these fallen heroes who have once commanded respect in one section of the economy or the other. Of what use is money embezzled without peace of mind? A couple of them have suddenly been flown abroad under the label of ill health. Why not? Their blood pressures must have sky-rocketed due to numerous allegations and counter allegations surrounding their person. The scripture says, “Righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach”. (Prov. 14:34)

It is very easy to point accusing fingers to anyone while the same cankerworm is eating our personal financial life. Or, do you think such a habit of financial fraudulence, unaccountability and misappropriation started just in a day? Noooo… it started when they were as young as you are. Yes teen, believe me! Habits, good or bad, grow in the process of time.

The last time your mum sent you on an errand, did you return the balance? The money you picked up on the floor whose owner “you‘re still yet to identify” was not returned to the school authority. You remember that? The last group project you had with your peers, the details of all the financial spending was not given. You say it doesn’t matter?  No, it does matter. It is all these little foxes that become big foxes eventually. They will not only spoil the vine but will raze down the farmland if care is not taken. (Songs 2:15).

Dearly beloved, check your life of all impending dangers that could rubbish your Christian walk with God .Don’t be an embarrassment to the work of Christ on earth. I’m praying for you as I’m praying for myself that may we never be caught in the web of financial fraud; an embarrassment to the kingdom of God! Amen

ACTION WORD:            LITTLE FOXES SPOIL THE VINE.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. Every spirit of covetousness in me, die by fire.
  2. I receive grace for great discipline in all my financial endeavors in Jesus name.
