Bible Reading: Colossians 1:9-10

Memory VerseBut grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

Aren’t you tired of being a spiritual baby? You stopped going to Church because your pastor and the visitation team did not check on you when you were sick. In the past one year you can’t point to any soul you have won for the Lord. Your quiet time has always been epileptic since you gave your life to Christ 5 years ago up until now. These and more are all signs that you are a spiritual baby. Friend, you need to be committed to spiritual growth. How do you grow spiritually?

1. Be genuinely born again: Friend, are you convinced you are born again? Are you? You take alcohol, you womanize, you go to your village for annual yam festival, you still send money to the village for yearly carnival in honour of the gods of the land. I doubt your salvation. Genuinely repent and forsake our sins. Cut away from your past. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Cor. 5:17b KJV).

2. You must be a Bible and prayer addict: Prophecy is great but it can fail. Only the Word of God never fails (Isaiah 40:8). Brethren, your pastor is not doing you any good if all he does is to prophesy upon your head every Sunday. Go to a Bible based and prayer believing Church. You need the undiluted Word of God in your spirit. What physical food is to your body is what the Word of God is to your spirit. If you must be well nourished and free from spiritual malnutrition, you must be a Bible addict.

3. Place high premium on your quiet time: The Word of God contains basic instructions for life and destiny fulfillment. Don’t be a child that doesn’t have a direct contact with his Father. It is one thing to know about your Saviour, and it is another thing to know your Saviour. Spend time with the Lord consistently alone with him everyday. Make it a covenant obligation and watch yourself grow. Your quiet time is a personal time spent ALONE with the Lord everyday, where you fellowship with Jesus personally in praises, worship, study of your Bible, prayers, meditation on the Word, and hearing from the Lord. This is not the same as family altar.

QuoteYou are as close to God as you want to be – Dr. D.K. Olukoya.

Prophetic Decree:  As the deer pants after the water Brook, may your soul thirst after God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for the privilege to know you.

2. Any clog in the wheel of my spiritual progress, catch fire, in Jesus name.

3. Channels of my spirit, open up, in Jesus name.

4. I receive fresh unquenchable appetite for the Word of God and prayers, in Jesus name.

5. My inner man shall not rest until I encounter God daily in my quiet time, in Jesus name.
