Bible reading: Jonah 1:1-17.

Memory Verse: Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NLT).

I’ll encourage you to read this devotional meditatively. This is not another devotional.

Paragraph 2 of yesterday’s devotional started with this phrase, “His ship was intercepted by the British Navy’s Anti-Slave Trade Patrol…”

Beloved, it may interest you to know that if the ship taking Bishop Ajayi “down to Portugal” hadn’t been intercepted by the British Navy’s Anti-Slave Trade Patrol, he wouldn’t have been taken to Sierra -Leone and he mayn’t have encountered Christ.  Consequently, he wouldn’t have fulfilled his life assignment.

A similar case is what happened to Jonah on his way to Tarshish. His assignment was waiting for him in Nineveh while he was heading towards Tarshish. Thank God “he was intercepted” in the belly of a fish and thereafter relocated to his rightful place.

Friends, how long have God being trying to “intercept “you in your journey to destruction in the midst of your sinful company of friends? Don’t take it for granted that the brother/sister sent to evangelize to you the other time is a fool having nothing else to do. Actually, he was sent to “intercept” you in your sinful journey to destruction.

Have you had a definite encounter with the Lord? How long will you be a slave sold to devil? Will you continue to dance at the gate of hell?

Repent today. Stop that journey with that “sugar daddy “. Stop that examination malpractice. Stop watching that pornography. Stop masturbation. Stop being a homosexual. Return back today to the Living God of Israel.

Quote: With Jesus in the ship, you can sleep like His sheep.

Prophetic Word: May you accept the mercy of God that has intercepted your ship today, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Lord Jesus, as you intercepted Bishop Crowther and Jonah in their journey to destruction; “intercept” me today and always. Please deliver me from the sin that easily beset me and save my soul from destruction. Thank you for accepting me into your Vine, and redeeming my soul with the Blood of Jesus, in Jesus name
