DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post February

Sunday, 5th February, 2017.

Bible reading: Job 39:27-30.

Memory Verse: “As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings” Deuteronomy 32:11(NKJV).

5) Eagles possess Vitality: Eagles are full of life and are visionary; but they do find out time to look back at their life and re-energize themselves. This happens at about the age of 30. At this age, their physical body condition deteriorates fast making it difficult for them to survive.

What is really interesting is that the eagle never gives up living; instead, the eagle retreats to a mountaintop and over a five-month period goes through a metamorphosis. It knocks off its own beak by banging it against a rock, plucks out its talons and feathers, and waits for the removed body parts to grow again. Thus, the eagle to live for another 30 – 40 years.

You must learn to look back and take stock of your life; the good and the bad experiences you have been through. Keep on with the current knowledge trend, and improve on certain areas in your life you need to? Do you want to be great? You have to always do a “check and balance” of your personal and academic life and make effort to learn new things every day.

6) Eagles Train Their Children to Maturity (Deut. 32:11): Eagles always build their nests on high places where enemies cannot easily reach. Research has shown that no member of the bird family is more gentle and attentive to its young ones than the eagles. This is how it happens. When the mother eagle sees that it’s time for it to teach the eaglets to fly, she carries it on her back, spread her wings and flies high. Suddenly she swoops out from under the eaglet and allows it to fly alone. When her baby wants to fall, she catches it, repeats it over and over, until the eaglet learns to fly. True leaders are not bosses. They are patient and grow with their people.

Quote: Be an eagle in Words and actions.

Prophetic Word: Your years shall be renewed like the Eagle in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:

  1. My Father, renew my appetite for knowledge, in Jesus name.
  2. I receive the Spirit of patience and temperance, in the name of Jesus.
