Scripture Reading:                    Judges 11:1-11, Psalm 33:9

Memory verse for the week:   Psalm 103: 1-2

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Self esteem is the way you see yourself; and the value you place on yourself. It describes the confidence you have in yourself. A person that has low self-esteem has very little value and confidence in his/her ability.

Binta was raised by her step mother who was so mean to her. Her mum died few hours after she was born. She has passed through hell in the hands of her step mother whom her father married two years after the demise of her own mum. One word she continually heard from this cruel woman who often maltreated her was, “You good for nothing girl”.

Indeed, the power of life and death is in the tongue. Provs.18:21. These words sank deep into her spirit and built an image of “nothing-good-can-ever-come-out-of-my-life” into her.

Is your case similar to that of Binta? What has your friends, relatives or guardian ever told you that is now hunting the glory of your future? Get over it, beloved! Jesus alone has the final say over your life. The scripture says in the book of Lamentations 3:37 “Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it?” (NKJV)

I confront the ghost of your past hunting your future by the power in the blood of Jesus. Next time such words come to hit at you, look into the mirror and tell yourself, “I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb of God; old things are therefore passed away!”

I declare your liberty in Jesus name. Go and succeed!

ACTION WORD:       YOU ARE WHAT GOD SAY YOU ARE.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I kill every evil word ever spoken to me & working against me, in the name of Jesus,
  2. My heart, reject every evil word in the name of Jesus.
